This salmon dish is so tastey and the tomatoes add an awesome flavor to it, which accents it perfectly. Made this for dinner last night and it was excellent. It was gone in a flash. It’s healthy, tasty and my family really really loved it.
The flavors of the lamb make this recipe worth repeating. The lamb indeed fell apart, no carving needed. It was extremely flavorful, especially with the reduced sauce. I wished added more garlic because it was simply delicious with the meal.
The house melled SO good. It was just like in a restaurant. I don’t know how you could say anything bad about it. This is such a flavorful broth and you can taste the saffron.

This recipe is wonderful. Amazingly, there is no overwhelming flavor of 40 cloves of garlic; they really mellow out beautifully in this recipe. I doubled the recipe for the sauce because my family loves extra sauce. Finishing the sauce with cognac and cream makes it better. My whole family loved it and they went back for seconds.

Seafood lovers know that fish skin might be the best part when cooked right. Family/ friends know me by now that I don’t like to waste anything. Basically crispy-fried salmon skin is like salmon rinds as opposed to pork rinds. This method makes the skin come out crackly crisp. Make sure the skin is completely free of scales. Do this by scraping it with the edge of a sharp knife. Rinse any scales away. Pat the skin completely dry with paper towels. The skin must be dried out as much as possible before cooking.
You can serve it as an appetizer or main course with salad. I opened a bottle of Tamayo 2006 Shiraz and could not believe how it paired so well with the mushrooms, thyme, creme fraiche and Gruyere cheese. I will definitely be making this dish again.
I followed the recipe and found it to be absolutely delicious and it was AMAZING! I love the different layers of flavor in the tomato meat sauce. The lamb and ground beef combination was fantastic…when mixed together, the lamb taste is not overwhelming at all. The bechamel and parmesan develop a great crust as the dish bakes. I love this dish and Ina’s recipe produced an amazing dish. I will be making this dish again.
