New York Steak, Baby Lamb Chop with Chimichurri and Aioli Sauce
I got up this morning thinking how I’m going to prepare New York steak and baby lamb chop for Father’s Day. My brother-in-law ,sister, and niece are coming over for dinner. I’m looking forward to this dinner and I hope they will enjoy what I’m going to serve.
Lightly season the steak and lamb chop before cooking on the grill or pan.

Baby Lamb Chops
Chimichurri Sauce
Aioli Sauce
Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream
Chimichurri Sauce
¾ cup olive oil
¼ cup Red wine vinegar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 garlic cloves
2 Shallots, peeled, quartered
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
4 tablespoons basil
¼ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon coriander
2 bay leaves
1 cup Italian parsley
1 cup cilantro
1 cup mint
In food processor or blender; combine first 8 ingredients, blend until almost smooth. Add ¼ of parsley, ¼ of cilantro, and ¼ of mint; blend until incorporated. Add remaining herbs in 3 more additions, pureeing until almost smooth after each addition. Can be made 1 day ahead, cover and chill.
I’m ready to prepare Yukon Gold garlic mash potatoes. I’m scrubbing the potatoes and cut it into quarters. Ever since I tried Tyler Florence’s Lemon Smashed Potatoes which was a big hit with the family; this time I’m using garlic instead of lemon. I am boiling the potatoes in 1 cup milk, 1 cup heavy cream, and 4 garlic cloves; let it boil and add 1 teaspoon kosher salt and lower the heat to simmer for 30 minutes. I really like this recipe because I don’t have to worry about discarding water and adding milk and butter. This method is really creamy and you just want more of it and you can taste potatoes and garlic and most of all I did not use any butter. Can you believe it?
Dinner is almost ready and I hope they will enjoy the food.
I’m so glad that I decided to prepare the two sauces because it was just so good with the steak and lamb. The apartment is so quiet….everyone is enjoying the food. We have to save room for Apple pie and Vanilla Ice Cream.
