The ultimate comfort food. I have been sick all week, and this was the only ting I craved to warm up my tummy. The Cantonese tradition seems to be, to cook until all the rice grains have dissipated. My favorite way to have it is with chunks of fish. The wonderful thing about it is its versatility – you can put anything in it – from pickled vegetables to dried scallops, any sort of specialty meat, mushrooms, or just leave it plain. Great stuff to warm the soul…..
Wow I can’t believe how moist they came out. The roasted red pepper really brought out the flavor. The panini press grilled the burgers to perfection. My Sarachi Aioli sauce certainly complimented the burgers. The burgers needed more seasoning, perhaps the next time I prepare this dish I will add more spices. The following day I had another burger and this time I did not add Sarachi Aioli sauce and the burger was bland. It definitely needs something. Will definitely use this recipe again…use a little more salt, garlic powder, or other seasoning….
I’m planning on using the panini press to warm corn tortilla and slices of tri-tip by adding simple condiments: fresh cilantro, shredded cheddar and monterey cheese, Trader Joe’s guacamole dip, and creme fraiche. This was so good that anytime I have left over meat of any kind I will try to make tacos and make different condiments that will accompany the meat. Sometimes we put too many toppings that the taste of beef gets lost…from time to time, simple is better!
My niece sent me a text and wanted me to make cupcakes for her. My niece tells her mom “look auntie made homemade vanilla buttercream frosting for me!” The cupcakes came out very light, fluffy, and moist. Delicious…Yummy!!!
The meat came out so tender and the layers of seasoning was perfect. This was so good that I refrained from myself from having seconds. I was savoring every single bite. The next time I prepare this dish, I will definitely cook more shiitake mushrooms. Delicious!!!
The aroma is intoxicating and fills the house. There were plenty of residual juices in the pan to create a gravy but I opted not to making gravy. I just drizzled the pan juices to the chicken and vegetables. The vegetables in this dish are outrageous….definitely add more vegetables…they were also moist. The leftovers were simply divine…the chicken was still moist.
The panini grill worked so well in grilling chicken. The grill was so easy to use that the chicken was so moist and tender.. The flavor from the garlic, lemon and most of all the fresh rosemary was intoxicatingly good. I wanted the aroma to last for days. I marinated it for 2 days. The next time I prepare this I will loosen the skin and place some of the marinade under the skin. I was even admiring on how beautiful the chicken looked in the marinade sauce. I would rate this recipe a 10. I can see me making this recipe for years to come.
I think one of my favorite comfort food when the weather gets cold, raining is having a nice bowl of linguine with clams, crusty bread, and a bottle of wine. I recently visited friends of mine and for dinner John made linguine with clams.
Driving home I can smell the nice aroma…fresh minced garlic and fresh basil it was so intoxicatingly good that I was tempted to pull over and take a bite.
This is a very simple recipe with simple ingredients.
This recipe turned out amazing! Phenomenal!!!! So much flavor out of very few ingredients. I made fingerling potatoes instead of cooking rice or mashed potatoes. Big mistake on my part….the sauce was so good that I ended up heating French bread and dipping the bread in the sauce. Cornish game hens were absolutely delicious with this recipe; the meat was so moist and the meat fell off the bone. I ended up drinking the wine I used to cook the cornish hens….it paired so well that I had to limit myself to just 2 glasses….more for tomorrow nights dinner.
I have leftover fingerling potato and decided to make potato omelette this morning. I love it when I have plenty of leftovers and allow myself to create something delicious for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. I try to practice healthy lifestyle even though at times my friends will disagree. Portion control is key to eating what we truly love and why deprive yourself of eggs every morning.
