OMG this was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! I felt like I was sitting in a Bistro outside of Paris enjoying the countryside with a glass of wine, French bread, and watching the people passing by. I am so glad I have the opportunity to recreate recipe’s I have seen or tasted. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks Ina for the great recipes!!!!
Thanksgiving is over and we have a little bit of turkey left and I’m going to make an open face sandwich with mushrooms, gravy, and turkey. I sauteed 2-6 crimini mushrooms in butter until brown. In the skillet add cut up turkey meat and gravy. Toast a piece of bread and cut-off the crust. In a serving platter, place bread and top it with turkey mixture.
It’s 12 P.M. and I need to clean the turkey, wash and let it dry before I do the prep work. In the meantime I can go for a swim and just relax before I start preparing the turkey. This year I am preparing the way Ina Gartner, Tyler Florence and my version in preparing the Roast Turkey.
What a wonderful way to begin my day. Swimming first thing this morning, nice cup of coffee and lunch with Mom at Va de Vi Bistro and Wine Bar to celebrate my birthday. Nice cold day and I think it’s going rain late this afternoon. I love days like this when I get to bundle up, wear my favorite scarf and walk around a bit.
I just had to share with you that today I finally flipped my first omelet.
Who doesn’t like meat with sauce….imagine meat bone in and plenty of sauce that you can either serve with mash potatoes or dip your bread in the sauce. Costco shopping to me is an adventure, you never know what will find in the different tasting booths set-up to entice the consumer in one of the many new products available temporarily in the store. During this visit, I noticed they have lamb shank and it’s one of my favorite type of meat, serves two.
I love catfish and found this recipe on line and it looks simply delicious and most of all it only takes 20 minutes to prepare. This is the type of meal I like to prepare. While the fish is cooking I can cook vegetables and prepare salad.
I have been eating the wonderful Turkey Meatloaf for two days now; it’s time to have a good hearty soup. I decided to stop at 99 Ranch and try Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. The woman at the counter highly recommended this soups because it’s spicy and apparently a lot of people order this soup. You can’t beat the price $6.75 for a big container and there will be left-overs for sure.
The smell and taste of herbes de Provence was amazing. I wanted to eat some more of this delicious grain….lots of fiber. Mom wants me to prepare this for Thanksgiving dinner. I will make it prettier by making fresh breadcrumbs instead of placing pieces of bread on top.
I saw Giada De Laurentis prepare this dish and looking forward to preparing it. It looks pretty easy to prepare and healthy. Time to go shopping for the ingredients. Ingredients
