It’s time taste the lamb chops with Honey-Balsamic Sauce. The lamb is delicious on its own with the rosemary and olive. I love the sweet and tangy balsamic combined with the fresh pine flavor of the rosemary and the meaty flavor of lamb. The sauce can be used for other dishes as well.
After watching Ina prepare Lemon Yogurt Cake , I decided to try the recipe. It was certainly delicious and I had a brilliant idea; I will use her recipe and experiment making a Key Lime Yogurt Cake.
Mom turned 79 years old and she looks fantastic. When I told her that the family was coming over to celebrate her birthday she was so excited and wanted to know what I was going to prepare. Mom has this belief and we have practiced this for years dating back when we lived in the Philippines of having noodles to celebrate any birthdays. Noodles represent long life
Back then I only knew how to prepare beefsteak the way Lola prepared it in the Philippines by marinating beef in calamansi (a hybrid citrus species between a tangerine and kumquat; a very popular small citrus fruit in the Philippines).
Hands down barbecued Jamaican jerk chicken is really out of this world. You can really taste all the different layers of flavors from cinnamon, allspice, ginger, nutmeg, onions, and whatever else I decided to put in the sauce, it is really good. Don’t get me wrong broiled or baked chicken is also good. I decided to make gravy with the leftover jerk sauce and dripping from the pan. Place the marinade and dripping in a small sauce pan and let it boil.
I still remember the scene from Julie and Julia where Julia Child is practicing her skills in cutting onions. This is difficult and at times I wonder why I’m going to through the process of making my own relish, why not just purchase a bottle of onion relish in a specialty store.
