I’ve thinking of Sweet Tomatoes’ Red Pepper Slaw I had a couple of nights ago and determined to come up with something similar that I can prepare when I have a craving for slaw.
We have so many varieties of fruits in the fridge from watermelon, cantaloupe, papaya, and grapes I was thinking I can prepare something delicious. I remember the cantaloupe soup my sister and I had when were in NYC last year.
I was watching Lidia Bastianich prepare Monk Fish and Braised Fennel with Capers. Instead of monk fish I will prepare salmon. It looked so good and simple; loaded with flavor that I am looking forward in preparing it. The fennel sweetness and the tinge of liquorish and balanced by the acidity and the saltiness of the capers were so delicious.
The price is fair and great salad buffet. During this visit I had my usual a little Caesar Salad and Won Ton Chicken Happiness, Aunt Doris’ Red Pepper Slaw, Joan’s Broccoli Madness, Thai Citrus & Brown Rice salad and you can go back as many times you would like. I went back for seconds of Aunt Doris’ Red Pepper Slaw, it was so good and it did not contain any fat at all. I have to try to make this slaw and remember the ingredients they used.
The ingredients for this dish: balsamic vinegar, garlic, sugar snap peas, olive oil, tilapia fillets, butter, potatoes, thyme.
Imagine the flavors of fresh, summer peaches and dairy cream. White peaches are in season and each I look forward in eating peaches
feasting on leftovers for the next couple of days
This is delicious, I did not add sugar just the natural sweetness of the fruit is all you need. If you don’t have coconut milk I’m sure you can replace it with low fat coconut cream pie yogurt and eliminate the use of Fage 0% yogurt.
Add ¼ of parsley, ¼ of cilantro, and ¼ of mint; blend until incorporated. Add remaining herbs in 3 more additions, pureeing until almost smooth after each addition. Can be made 1 day ahead, cover and chill.
We always have ice cream in the freezer and wanted to serve it with some type of sauce. I have Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and Silk Drambuie Cream (similar to Bailey’s Irish Cream).
What a great combination. Watermelon, arugula, feta, mint, lemon juice, orange juice, and shallots compliment this wonderful salad. Really a good summer salad. The mint and watermelon did the trick. The feta was a good contrast to the fruit and the hint of mint in every bite was heavenly. Again Ina thank you!!!
I followed the recipe and found it to be absolutely delicious and it was AMAZING! I love the different layers of flavor in the tomato meat sauce. The lamb and ground beef combination was fantastic…when mixed together, the lamb taste is not overwhelming at all. The bechamel and parmesan develop a great crust as the dish bakes. I love this dish and Ina’s recipe produced an amazing dish. I will be making this dish again.
