Typically this dish is cooked on the grill and since I don’t have one, I will first bake it for an hour and broil each side until I get a charring effect on the skin. In a sense it’s good that I don’t have an outdoor grill, I’m able to baste the chicken with juice from the rub. The house smells so good.
I don’t know whether or not this has ever happened to you, I had a dream eating bacon, eggs over easy, hot coffee, and fresh fruit. When I got up this morning I had to fulfill my dream. I always have bacon in the refrigerator just in case I have one of those crazy cravings.
Mom asked me to make Lola’s Chicken Adobo a popular Filipino dish. I have bay leaf, garlic, peppercorn, rice vinegar, soy sauce and brown sugar and good to go in preparing chicken adobo. As I was cutting the chicken in small pieces, I was thinking of how Lola prepared this dish once a week in the Carenderia.
Wild Mushroom Sauté for the steak dinner the other night, I decided to make bruschetta and top it with Wild Mushroom Sauté with a glass of wine.
So whenever I feel like having pizza I open a package of Tarte D’ Alsace by Maitre Pierre frozen flatbread pizza made with caramelized onions, ham, and gruyere cheese. It doesn’t take long to bake it and I like to add more cheese and bake it for 15 minutes so that all the cheese melts and the crust is crispy.
I’m to going to use some of the mushroom sauté from last night’s dinner and make an omelet. This is going to be good and it will be ready in minutes. When I make an omelet, I use 2 eggs beaten, with a little water, salt and pepper, and small piece of butter.
I can’t believe how good the whole meal came out. I really love using shiitake, abalone and king oyster mushroom in the sauté. You can really taste mushrooms, the texture is amazing. When you bite in the abalone, you feel like you’re eating scallops or abalone. It’s so silky and tender.
Jamaican jerk rub and wanted to recreate it. The ingredients for Jamaican jerk rub is pretty easy and not time consuming. I have to rely in my sense of smell and see if I can create this wonderful rub. Jamaican jerk rub should be used for grilling chicken, pork, beef, and vegetables
I always get nervous when Mom announces that she will be making turkey meatballs and tomato sauce. A few minutes later, Mom asked me to do something to the sauce because she said that it was too watery. When I looked at the sauce and tasted it, it had no taste at all. I don’t think she put any salt or seasoning. I immediately started to think of how I can salvage this and not want to hurt her feeling.
I heated a couple pieces of Pain Pascal so that I can dip the warm bread in the garlic infused olive oil. This will be great with balsamic vinegar and wine.
In the bowl with the angel hair, add the olive oil, lemon and parsley, and mix gently with the tongs. Add a ladle full of the pasta water and mix again.
Take the pasta bowls out of the oven and line them up. Divide the angel hair between the bowls and sprinkle a generous amount of Parmesan cheese over the top of each
I passed by See’s candy and I was so tempted to stop in and purchase one chocolate and purchase coffee. It always makes me feel good. I left their office feeling very down and I remember See’s candy and I wanted so bad to stop by and purchase one or two pieces of chocolate.
