What I love about this recipe is I now have an option in making a low fat sauce made of Total 0% fat Fage yogurt, dill, and good feta cheese. For the hamburger, I used ground turkey but I’m sure it will be good to combine beef and lamb with all the herbs and spices.
The flavors of the lamb make this recipe worth repeating. The lamb indeed fell apart, no carving needed. It was extremely flavorful, especially with the reduced sauce. I wished added more garlic because it was simply delicious with the meal.
It’s time taste the lamb chops with Honey-Balsamic Sauce. The lamb is delicious on its own with the rosemary and olive. I love the sweet and tangy balsamic combined with the fresh pine flavor of the rosemary and the meaty flavor of lamb. The sauce can be used for other dishes as well.
Add ¼ of parsley, ¼ of cilantro, and ¼ of mint; blend until incorporated. Add remaining herbs in 3 more additions, pureeing until almost smooth after each addition. Can be made 1 day ahead, cover and chill.
I followed the recipe and found it to be absolutely delicious and it was AMAZING! I love the different layers of flavor in the tomato meat sauce. The lamb and ground beef combination was fantastic…when mixed together, the lamb taste is not overwhelming at all. The bechamel and parmesan develop a great crust as the dish bakes. I love this dish and Ina’s recipe produced an amazing dish. I will be making this dish again.
I served it with whole wheat couscous and it was absolutely delicious. Too bad we only had four chops, next time I will make more. Mom and I enjoyed every single bite and wanted more. You can really taste all the spices. Very nice simple dish and will definitely keep this recipe.
I am looking forward in heating the Osso Buco and I hope the bone marrow is still there so that I can place it on top of the warm crusty bread. Boy this is going to be soooo good, dipping the bread in the sauce and having a glass of wine. Good way to end the day.
After sauteing the carrots, celery, onions, garlic, and bay leaf the aroma in the apartment led my mother to open the front door and closed the bedroom door so that the neighbors can smell what I was cooking. When I deglaze the pan with Marsala wine and added the browned meat, vegetable mixture, sprig of thyme, and chicken stock the aroma coming from the pot was so delightful, I could actually smell all the ingredients come to life. Braising the dish in the oven for one hour and a half, the apartment smelled so good that the neighbors wanted to know what I was cooking when they saw me. The smell of slow cooked food has such an inviting aroma that you get a feeling that you are sitting at grandma’s kitchen.
