OMG! This recipe is super easy and it doesn’t take a long time to cook. It is so moist and taste pretty good. Who would believe that using Ranch dressing will be yield such a great dish.
The herbes de provence give it all the flavor so don’t leave out. I can’t wait to make this again, it’s another way to make a delicious dish that takes no time at all. The next time I make this I will braise the pork chops and sauce in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees so that the pork will be tender. It was very easy to make, I’d make this again.
The crispy crunchy skin crackles as you take your first bite only to reveal the mouthwatering fat that sits right below. And then at long last you taste it all together with the savory pork belly meat.
Brown tofu and set aside. Using the same pan, add ground pork until brown. Add ginger, garlic, scallions, bell pepper, szechuan sauce, and tofu cook for 30 seconds. Stir gently. Add stock and bring to a full boil. Thicken with cornstarch. Sprinkle with remaining scallions and serve with brown rice or white rice.
Hands down barbecued Jamaican jerk chicken is really out of this world. You can really taste all the different layers of flavors from cinnamon, allspice, ginger, nutmeg, onions, and whatever else I decided to put in the sauce, it is really good. Don’t get me wrong broiled or baked chicken is also good. I decided to make gravy with the leftover jerk sauce and dripping from the pan. Place the marinade and dripping in a small sauce pan and let it boil.
This dish brought back childhood memories and I am glad I was able to recreate this dish, I never thought I will have the opportunity to eat once again. I took a bite of the star anise it tasted just like root beer the soft drink and the sauce was so delicious…I can definitely taste the star anise, and shiitake mushrooms. I was sipping on the sauce like it was soup. This is so good with steamed rice but Mom and I ate like this.
I don’t know whether or not this has ever happened to you, I had a dream eating bacon, eggs over easy, hot coffee, and fresh fruit. When I got up this morning I had to fulfill my dream. I always have bacon in the refrigerator just in case I have one of those crazy cravings.
I have a small piece of pork satay left from the other night and for lunch I will make tacos. First cut pork in strips and mix the marinade sauce and reheat in the oven while you make Pico de Gallo salsa. Instead of shredded lettuce I am using sliced radish and avocado…..we were both silent savoring every single bite.
I have a couple of pieces of pork shank that I marinated a couple of day ago and will be cooking it tonight. Marinated meat taste so delicious when you grill the meat and unfortunately I don’t have a grill and will use a frying pan and will still yield the same result.
I knew I can always entice Mom with pork. All I kept hearing her say was “boy this is so good and enjoying every single bite….wished your sister was here.” She picked up the bone with much of the meat still intact and had another serving of this wonderful dish. We both wished there were more sauce to drizzle on the couscous. We have a little leftover and for sure we’ll be licking our fingers. I wanted to have some more wine with dinner…..
Wow!!! I can’t believe it that mom is going to cook dinner tonight instead of opening a box of frozen food purchased at Trader Joe’s or Safeway. She defrosted chicken thighs and pork bellies purchased at 99 Ranch. Mom used rice vinegar instead of cane vinegar.
I’m going to make this tonight and will cheat a bit since I did not have time to soak black beans. I will just purchase a couple of cans of Organic Black Beans from Trader Joe’s (I like their brand better than the other one’s available in the market) using the juice of the beans, jar of Salsa Verde, onions, bell pepper, garlic, tomatoes, and brown basmati rice. I never measure when I am cooking.
